A DOC system is an aftertreatment component that is designed to convert carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water. Both CO2 and water are absorbed by plants and are essential to their growth, carbon monoxide is a harmful emission that contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer.
